The Cursillo Movement is a world-wide movement within the Catholic Church, which lived, accepted, sanctioned, and encouraged by the Pope and Bishops throughout all the years of its existence. The Cursillo Movement was originated on January 7, 1949 and today is recognized as a Lay movement within the Church.
The roles of the Laity and Ordained are to protect and present the movement as it was originally written and approved. The Cursillo, (mini-course) weekend teaches methods toward growing in holiness, formation, and evangelization. These methods strengthen the Cursillista to persevere through their fourth day, (the rest of their lives), in their relationship with God and to actively be His Church.
